It is now nearly a generation since the Hillsborough disaster and Bradford fire so how far have we come in making football safe and accessible to all? The first thing to be said is you can’t say the FA and clubs of all leagues haven’t responded to it. Of the 92 grounds currently 28 are newly built with many others barley recognisable and have a broad spectrum of facilities to help people access football regardless of age, gender or disability . All premier league and championship grounds are all seater and the quality of and space on terracing has dramatically increased were it is still permitted although sparse in the lower league.
